Congratulations to everyone on their A Levels, GCSEs and BTEC results. Everyone was studying during a very difficult period and should be incredibly proud of their achievements. If anyone needs help on next steps you can visit the government’s National Careers Service.
I hope everyone had a good summer, it has certainly been eventful! In the past six weeks we have had the Queen’s Baton Relay passing through the district, the Commonwealth Games coming to Cannock Chase, a jam packed Space Scheme offering free local activities for children, the Lionesses winning the European Championship and some lovely weather to round it all off.
I hope that the festival of sport that was on display this summer will see these children inspired to get more involved. There can be no better lasting legacy for the 2022 Commonwealth Games than a new generation discovering a passion for sport and physical activity.
In the coming days you will see a new Leader of the Conservative Party elected, who will become the new Prime Minister. Over the past six weeks the two candidates have been battling it out in hustings discussing their plans for the country. Having worked with Liz Truss I’m backing her for the next Leader as the only candidate who can unite the party and has a positive vision for the country. I know whoever wins will hit the ground running tackling the big issues facing people across Cannock Chase.
As ever, please do not hesitate to raise any issues with me by telephone on 01543 877142, via e-mail at [email protected] or in writing to 11a Market Street, Hednesford, Cannock, Staffordshire, WS12 1AY.
