Local elections will take place on 5 May to elect 13 district councillors across Cannock Chase.
These elections matter – they will decide who runs services in our area – and how much we will pay for them.
I know that households are worried about the rising cost of living. And so - keeping bills down and cutting council waste is more important than ever.
Since 2021, Cannock Chase District Council has been led by the Conservatives who have done a brilliant job to boost local investment and provide quality services as part of their ambitious plans for Cannock Chase.
The local Conservative group have a clear vision for Cannock Chase. And have wasted no time in delivering their plans.
Their plans include ensuring businesses can thrive, innovation is encouraged, and aspiration is supported. I was delighted we secured £20 million investment to revitalise Cannock town centre after years of neglect. And the Council have distributed grants to support local businesses struggling because of the pandemic.
They are also linking businesses and colleges to meet skills demands. This includes assisting with the newly built Digital Skills Centres situated within Cannock and Tamworth College.
The District Council is also committed to improving the lives of local residents and protecting our environment. This includes by improving recycling services, protecting Cannock Chase and by investing in local leisure centres – including helping to deliver the £1.25 million investment programme at Rugeley Leisure Centre.
The Council have also secured investment to improve our local play areas, and to repair bridges and boardwalks. You will often see Conservative councillors out and about on litter picks or repainting our playgrounds.
I have been on the campaign trail with the Conservative councillors and candidates. And I know just how deeply they care about our community.
To ensure the District Council continues to deliver for the people of Cannock Chase, please vote for your hard-working Conservative candidates on 5 May.
