Amanda Milling has announced the winners of her annual competition to find Cannock Chase’s best independent retailers for 2019, held as part of Small Business Saturday UK.
Now in its sixth year, the competition sought public votes for the best independent businesses in Heath Hayes, Bridgtown, Norton Canes, Cannock, Hednesford and Rugeley. Businesses battled it out to be crowned the public’s favourite independent retailers in Cannock Chase.
The competition highlights standout businesses over several categories, including the best local shops, best market stalls and best cafés/restaurants, as well as the overall winner award for the retailer gaining the most votes in any category.
This year there were new categories in the competition and some new winners in existing categories. This year Heavenly Treasures in Cannock, Glam & Glow in Heath Hayes, Ann’s Café and Catering in Norton Canes, Savannah’s Tea Room in Rugeley and the Shiny Fork in Hednesford were all first-time award-winners.
Rugeley’s ladies clothing shop, Lachmere was crowned the overall winner, gaining the most votes in any category.
Amanda Milling said, “A huge congratulations to Rugeley's Lachmere, who I am delighted to announce is the overall winner, having secured the most votes in any category. They have won their category several years in a row.”
