Amanda Milling MP is urging local residents to come out and support their local independent shops and restaurants.
To help celebrate our high street, Amanda Milling MP has launched her annual competition designed to celebrate local independent businesses. The competition, now in its seventh year, sees the public vote for high street businesses they love the most, in order to find the "Best of Cannock Chase”.
Recently, independent shops and restaurants have faced huge obstacles in continuing to do business, with many having to reinvent their business model, adapt to new ways of reaching their customers and expand their online presence. The Cannock Chase MP is keen that these local businesses get the support and recognition they deserve from their customers.
Amanda Milling MP said: “It is vitally important we show our support for our fantastic independent high street businesses. They are on every high street in Cannock Chase and are the gems of our retail communities. Many have had a very difficult year and without these businesses, our high streets wouldn’t be what they are today. Please show your support for your favourite business and vote for them today.”
The competition is now open, and the Cannock Chase MP is urging the public to vote for their favourite independent shops and businesses. Votes will be open until 5pm on Monday 30th November and are spread over three categories - the best shop, best café/restaurant, and best market stall across Cannock Chase. An award is also given to the business which receives the most votes overall in any category.
The winners will be announced on Small Business Saturday which takes place on 5th December 2020. Small Business Saturday UK is a not-for-profit campaign, which highlights small business success and encourages the UK to support small businesses.
Amanda added: “I would like to wish all local retailers the best of luck in the competition and I look forward to announcing the results as part of Small Business Saturday at the beginning of December. Now more than ever these businesses need our support, I am keen to celebrate the independent businesses spread across Cannock Chase.”
The competition is supported by the Best of Cannock and is in support of Small Business Saturday. Anyone wanting to vote for their favourite shop, market stall or café/restaurant can do so at www.bestchasebusiness.uk.
Businesses can also download voting forms and posters to display to their customers through the above link.
