Amanda Milling, Member of Parliament for Cannock Chase, is seeking local pubs to nominate their chef into a national competition.
The All Party Parliamentary Beer group, the British Beer and Pub Association and Nestle Professional are seeking to find the best pub chef in the UK. They are keen to recognise this trade and show off the skills that go into making our favourite pub meals.
Amanda Milling thinks Cannock Chase can top the competition and she is keen to help a local chef to fly the flag for us. Local pubs are being asked to nominate their pub chef to Amanda Milling and include a reason for this nomination. The nominations will be judged and then one local nomination will go on to the next stage of the national competition.
Amanda Milling said: “We have so many great pubs in the area and such a wealth of talent that this is a competition Cannock Chase can do well in. I think we can go all the way to the final.”
Last year, local apprentice chef, Sidney Haywood, Chef at the Rag at Rawnsley, was nominated to the national competition and received a certificate for being the best pub chef in Cannock Chase.
Nominations for the Cannock Chase constituency close on 23rd October. Any publican wishing to nominate their chef can do so by contacting Amanda Milling’s office on 01543 877142 or by emailing Amanda at [email protected].
