Amanda Milling has welcomed news of major road repairs planned for Cannock Chase. Staffordshire County Council has confirmed to Amanda that works have been scheduled for some of roads across Cannock Chase which are in need of repair.
These works include the islands at Hilltop in Hednesford, Five Ways Island and Sandy Lane in Rugeley.
Amanda Milling said: “One of the biggest issues people raise with me is the state of our roads. After much lobbying and following a tour of the constituency with County Councillor Mark Deaville, the Portfolio Holder for Highways, I am very pleased to say some of the most significant issues on our roads across Cannock Chase will now be addressed. This is great news and represents much needed investment in our roads."
Below is a list of the works confirmed for the next six months, costing a total of £1.59 million.
On Hill Top, Hednesford (A460), the entire junction, including 50 metres of approaches and the pedestrian crossing, is expected to be reworked beginning 31st July 2017.
Rugeley Road, Hednesford (A460), from the Rawnsley Road approach to the Station Road approach will be reworked.
On Five Ways Island, Cannock Road, Heath Hayes (A5190), the entire junction, including approaches and exits as required, is expected to be reworked beginning 10th July 2017.
On Sandy Lane, Rugeley (A460), the Queensway Pear Tree Estate junction, including the pedestrian crossing to the South of the junction, is expected to be reworked beginning 7th August 2017.
Park Road, Cannock, from the A34 Stafford Road, and including the pedestrian crossing to the West of the junction, is expected to be reworked beginning 22nd August.
Pennine Drive (incl. Greenfields), Cannock from the Hednesford Road to Calving Hill, is expected to be reworked beginning 3rd July 2017.
Rawnsley Road, Rawnsley, from Rugeley Road to Littleworth Road, is currently being reworked.
Norton Hall Lane/Church Road/Brownhills Road/Norton East Road, Norton Canes, from Norton Green Lane to surface joint just beyond no 22 Norton Hall Lane, is expected to be reworked beginning 2nd October 2017.
On the Beaumont Road roundabout, Norton Canes, the roundabout junction including approaches and exits, is expected to be reworked beginning 3rd July 2017.
On Delta Way, Bridgtown, the full width patch, including Fairway junction and Brindley accesses, is expected to be reworked beginning 13th November 2017.
Surrey Close, from the Devon Road joint to outside no. 6/8, is expected to be reworked beginning 17th November 2017.
Clarion Way, Cannock from the Pye Green Road to Windrush Road, is expected to be reworked beginning 23rd November 2017.
