The events in Manchester are truly horrific and our thoughts and prayers go out to the victims and their families. Rightly, all General Election campaigning is suspended.
The scenes we have seen on the news are terrible and so many bright futures have been taken by a cold and callus act of hate.
Today people are waking up finding out they have lost children, parents and friends in the attack. Parents will have dropped of their children and partners to a fun filled evening, only to have had their loved ones taken from them by an act of spite. You can only imagine the sorrow and loss they are feeling this morning.
Despite the fear, Manchester has really shown its true colours, with the community coming together to help each other in a time of need.
We need to make sure we all come together today to show those who would do us harm just how strong we are. Make today about helping people and supporting your friends, neighbours and community.
Call a friend or family member you haven’t spoken to in a while, speak to an elderly neighbour who may be alone, donate to a charity, volunteer in your community, help a stranger or carry out a random act of kindness.
Together we are strong and our kindness, community spirit and belief in all that is good will never be lost to terror.
