Amanda Milling, Member of Parliament for Cannock Chase, has welcomed news that a dedicated £1,582,000 pothole action fund has been allocated to Staffordshire.
Following the launch of her 2017 Pothole Patrol campaign, which is a campaign to get residents to help identify potholes, the Government has announced extra money to help local councils repair potholes. The funding for Staffordshire is part of the national Pothole Action Fund and follows last year’s announcement of £1,069,000 funding to address Staffordshire’s potholes.
Amanda Milling said: “‘The news of this funding could not come at a better time and it builds on the funding which was announced last year. I recently launched my 2017 Pothole Patrol campaign to get more potholes in Cannock Chase repaired as it is a constant frustration for road and footpath users. I would urge people to take part in my Pothole Patrol campaign so that we can make sure Staffordshire County Council are aware of the issues in and around Cannock Chase. This extra government funding is very welcome and I want to make sure that we see improvements to the roads here in Cannock Chase.”
