Amanda Milling, Member of Parliament for Cannock Chase, is holding a public event to help answer voters’ questions ahead of the EU Referendum. The public hustings will be held on Friday 17th June at 7.30pm at Our Lady of Lourdes Church Hall, Uxbridge Street, Hednesford. The event will include speakers from both the official “In” and “Out” campaigns. As well as hearing representatives from both campaigns lay out their arguments for remaining in or leaving the EU, members of the public will also have the opportunity to ask questions of the speakers. Amanda Milling said: “Many constituents have contacted me wanting to know more information about whether they should be voting to remain in or to leave the EU. I have therefore organised this hustings so that voters can hear both sides of the argument, as well as ask their questions. The event is not part of either campaign and I hope that it will be a useful in addressing local voters’ queries.” This EU event is intended for people who have not made up their minds or need more information before casting their vote. The Cannock Chase MP added: “I am proud of the fact that this Conservative government has given the public the opportunity to vote on whether or not we stay in the EU. This is a really important, once in a lifetime, referendum on our membership of the EU and I would strongly encourage all constituents to go out and cast their vote on the 23rd June. I believe it is imperative that voters have all the facts and information that they need in order to make this deeply personal decision and can do so from a fully informed and considered position. I would therefore urge people who are interested in hearing from representatives of the two campaigns to attend the hustings on Friday 17th June.“ The venue can accommodate up to 150 people and any members of the public wishing to attend will need to register by contacting Amanda Milling on 01543 877142 or email [email protected].
