Prospective Conservative MP for Cannock Chase, Amanda Milling has announced who has been crowned the Cannock Chase’s winning best independent shops and market stalls.
The local shop titles were won by three relative newcomers to our high streets, Caffe Del Nino in Cannock, Sheepcraft Yarns in Hednesford and Pretty on the Inside in Rugeley. The winning market stalls were two very well established market traders The Chicken Stall (in Cannock’s Indoor Market) and Meat to Please You (Rugeley market).
The competition asked people to vote for their favourite independent retailer over the last month and Amanda announced the results as part of Small Business Saturday.
Amanda said: “This competition was a small way of letting our local retailers know how much we appreciate and support them.
“Here in Cannock Chase, we are really lucky to have many wonderful and unique independent shops who are the lifeblood of our communities.
“The competition was really close across all the categories but we have five very worthy winners. It is great to see such a range of different types of businesses win as well as the well-established and newcomers to our high streets.
“It was a real privilege to visit each of the winners and give them the good news and present them with their certificate. Once again I would like to congratulate each of them.
“I’d also like to put on record my thanks to all of those who supported our independent retailers by voting in the competition.”
