Amanda Milling has now been the Member of Parliament for Cannock Chase for 100 days, and is taking the opportunity to report back to her constituents about her work so far on their behalf, both in the constituency and in Westminster.
Over the last 100 days Amanda has already visited several Cannock Chase schools, has met with dozens of charities and businesses with a constituency presence and she has also attended numerous local community events across Cannock, Hednesford, Rugeley and Norton Canes. She has also helped hundreds of local people through her constituency, business and street surgeries, as well as assisting hundreds of constituents who have contacted Amanda via letter, email and telephone.
However, her work has not just taken place in the constituency. In Westminster, Amanda has spoken more than a dozen times in the Chamber, on issues ranging from the productivity of UK businesses, support for apprenticeships, healthcare, the electrification of the Chase Line and the need to reform the radio licensing regime.
Amanda has also pledged her support to a number of APPGs; all-party Parliamentary interest groups, including the APPGs for autism, forestry, customer service and haemophilia, contaminated blood and small business. Amanda was also elected onto the Business, Innovation and Skills Select Committee, which held its first meeting at the beginning of July.
Commenting, Amanda said “It has been a busy first 100 days but it has been a privilege to be working on behalf of the people of Cannock Chase. I know there is much more to do, but I have been pleased to be able to make a start at tackling some of the most important issues facing our area, including those around health services, local infrastructure, Cannock Chase forest and our local Fire Services. I’m also pleased to have been able to support important Government achievements in the first 100 days, including proposals to give a pay rise to hard working people, and cut taxes for individuals and businesses.”
