Amanda Milling, Member of Parliament for Cannock Chase, calls on local businesses and job seekers to attend her first Jobs Fair. The Cannock Chase MP is holding her first Jobs Fair at the Rugeley Rose Theatre in Rugeley on Friday 17th June, from 10am until 1pm. This event will help put hundreds of jobs seekers directly in touch with local employers. Amanda is calling on local employers with vacancies to sign up to exhibit at the Jobs Fair – which is open to businesses from across Cannock Chase and the wider area. The event is free for employers exhibiting as well as for job seekers attending the event. Amanda Milling said: “This event will help put hundreds of job seekers directly in touch with local employers. Both local employers and job seekers have commented how effective and valuable these events are. The Jobs Fair is a great chance for businesses from across the local area to advertise recruitment opportunities and reach a wide audience for free. Whether a business is engineering, retail, transport or technology; whether it’s a big national employer or a smaller local one, the fair will give them the opportunity to reach potential new employees. I would also strongly encourage job seekers in the area to attend the event so that they can talk to local employers about the opportunities that are available.” Amanda added: ”With the potential closure of Rugeley B Power Station this Summer, there are hundreds of people who work at the site seeking new opportunities. The station has a wealth of skilled employees from fabricators, engineers, management, maintenance and high pressure welders – to name just a few. Many of the employees are also highly experienced, having worked at the station for several years. Talking to local businesses I know there is real demand for experienced and skilled employees, so I would encourage as many businesses as possible to sign up for this free event.“ To register to exhibit at the Jobs Fair please contact Amanda Milling MP on 01543 877142 or e-mail [email protected].
