Amanda Milling, Member of Parliament for Cannock Chase, is encouraging community groups from the area to apply for funding from the Yorkshire Bank Spirit of the Community Awards 2016.
Community projects in Staffordshire are invited to enter an awards programme which could see them share a pot of £75,000 to make a real difference in their local area.
Now in its fourth year, the Yorkshire Bank Spirit of the Community Awards 2016 is open for applications.
Yorkshire Bank will make donations to recognise and support community projects which are going the extra mile. Registered charities and not for profit organisations are invited to enter their projects into the awards scheme under one of three categories: projects which help people to have a healthy relationship with money, projects which help people to improve their local environment and projects which help people into employment.
The awards are open to a range of groups and charities which can demonstrate support for the local community. This could include projects helping to upskill people for the workplace, ventures promoting healthy relationships with money, or schemes aiming to protect the environment.
Amanda Milling said: “There are so many fantastic charities and community groups across Cannock Chase which work so hard to support out local communities. I have been lucky enough to meet with many of these since being elected. These groups are all incredibly deserving of an award and I would encourage all local charities and community groups to get in touch with Yorkshire Bank and apply.”
Amanda added: “I would also like to take this opportunity to encourage local charities and community groups to get in touch if they would like me to support, visit or meet with them. I am always keen to do everything I can to support these charities and groups that do such invaluable work supporting our communities.”
Debbie Crosbie, Clydesdale and Yorkshire Bank’s Chief Operating Officer and Chair of the Yorkshire and Clydesdale Bank Foundation, said: “Yorkshire Bank’s Spirit of the Community Awards aim to recognise and support the vital contribution that voluntary and charitable projects make to their local communities. It has been inspiring to see all of the fantastic work being carried out at grass roots level over the past three years and to see the difference our support can make to projects which provide such vital resources for local communities.”
For further information can be found at www.ybonline.co.uk/foundation or go into their local Yorkshire Bank branch to receive an application form.
The closing date for applications is Friday 8 April 2016 and the winners will be announced in summer 2016.
