Amanda Milling is encouraging local job seekers to attend her Jobs Fair on Friday 17th June. The Jobs Fair has been organised by Cannock Chase MP, Amanda Milling, and it aims to connect local job seekers with employers. The Jobs Fair, which is being held on Friday 17 June at Rugeley Rose Theatre from 10am until 1pm, around 30 companies signed up. Amanda Milling MP said: “I am very grateful to the businesses who have signed up. We have everything from engineering, care and retail, through to apprenticeship providers, the armed forces and delivery companies. I also have transport companies, warehouses and recruitment agencies signed up hoping to find new employees. Since 2010 unemployment in the area has fallen by 73% which is great news but I am keen to do more to help those who are seeking work, which is why I am holding my first Jobs Fair. This event is an opportunity for job seekers in the area to meet with local businesses with vacancies to fill.” Local organisations and employers who will be attending the Jobs Fair include London Midland, Roadchef, ATP, APC overnight, RAF, Mercian Regiment, JobCentre Plus, Tesco and Gestamp. The Jobs Fair is open to all job seekers in the area, including the workforce of Rugeley B Power Station which is shutting this month. The Cannock Chase MP added: “Since the announcement earlier this year that Rugeley B Power Station was likely to close this summer I have been working closely with the management team and trade union representatives to discuss ways in which we can support the workforce affected at this very difficult time. This event is also an opportunity for the workforce affected, by the closure this month of Rugeley B Power Station to meet with local employers as well as being open to other job seekers.” The Jobs Fair is being held at Rugeley Rose Theatre between 10am and 1pm. It is free to attend. For more information businesses and job seekers should contact Amanda Milling MP on 01543 877142 or email [email protected]
