Following news that the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government has decided not to ‘call-in’ the planning application for the Mill Green Designer Outlet Village, giving a green light for the development to proceed, Amanda Milling, Member of Parliament for Cannock Chase, said:
“I am absolutely delighted that the Mill Green development can proceed without any delays or hold ups. This development will place Cannock firmly on the nation’s retail map. The development means big luxury brand-names will set up shop in Cannock, as well as unlocking road, rail & town centre investment. There will also be a new retail training academy open at South Staffordshire College. It’s also great news for the local jobs market. There will be ongoing retail employment onsite and more jobs in the wider supply chain, as well as new construction jobs while the development is built. I have been lobbying the Government relentlessly over the last few weeks to ensure the development can proceed swiftly, so I am delighted with this news. This is a real boost for Cannock Chase.”
