Earlier this year Amanda invited local school children to design the cover of her official 2018 Christmas card, with the winning design featuring on the front of her card and two runners up on the back. Amanda received hundreds and hundreds of designs from local school children.
The Cannock Chase MP recently announced the overall winner, which was Harkaran Sandhu (Harry), aged 5, from Rugeley’s Chancel Primary School. Amanda recently visited Chancel Primary School to present Harry with a certificate and copies of the official 2018 Christmas card.
Amanda said: "It was exceptionally difficult to choose the winner, with hundreds of entries which were all brilliant. I am delighted to announce that Harkaran Sandhu, aged 5, from Chancel Primary School, was the winner and the design now features on the front of my Christmas card. Harry’s design was very unique and was particularly well suited to Cannock Chase! I was delighted to visit Chancel Primary School and be able to congratulate Harry in person.”
The two runners up were Drew Turner, aged 9, from St Luke’s Primary School and Amelie Raxworthy-Cooper, aged 9 from West Hill Primary School. This year the Cannock Chase MP will also feature 12 further designs on her Facebook page as part of a 12 Days of Christmas theme.
Amanda added: “I would like to thank the hundreds of local school children who took part in the competition, all the designs were brilliant. This year there were so many that I have decided to feature 12 more entries on my Facebook page as part of a 12 Days of Christmas theme. One design will be posted on each day of the 12 days of Christmas and are perfect examples of Cannock Chase’s Christmas spirit.”
